In September 2008, a dream of mine came true when my very first cookbook was published. For many years now, co-workers, friends and family members have all been asking me the same question..."When are you going to write a cookbook?" Although being asked by friends and family to write a cookbook, my real inspiration came from God. Being heavily involved with our Youth Ministry at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, I wanted to find a way to help subsidize our funding efforts so the kids could continue to grow in their spiritual relationship with God. That is why I am donating 50% of the net profits from the sale of each cookbook to St. Paul's Lutheran Church Youth Ministries.
All of the spices, seasonings and herbs that I used to cook the soups in this cookbook came from The Spice House, located in Evanston, Illinois. They bring in the highest quality spices and herbs from the top countries of origin around the world. They still hand grind their spices daily and when mixed, make them into seasonings in small artesian batches, blending only what they can sell fresh for that week. The staff there is not only very knowledgeable about what they sell, but eager to please each and every customer.
